Idasara Academy is Sri Lanka’s AI-powered, trilingual learning platform built for students who want structure, clarity, and real progress — without endless tuition hopping.

Whether you are preparing for O/L, A/L, or building employability skills after school, this guide walks you through everything you need to know as a complete beginner. You will learn what the platform is, why it exists, the key terms, how the system works, and exactly how to navigate every main area of the app.

No prior experience is required. You stay in control of your learning. The AI removes friction; you do the thinking.

1. What is Idasara Academy?

Idasara Academy is an AI-first, text-based learning and skills platform designed specifically for Sri Lanka and the developing world.

It is built around one core idea: clarity first, then execution

You read clear explanations, practice in small daily loops, track visible progress signals, and gradually turn learning into skills that support exams, jobs, and long-term independence (the Earn–Save–Invest path).

What it is

- Accessible — core content is free to start

- Structured — clear pathways aligned to real outcomes

- Skill-oriented — not just theory

- Practical — connected to earning power and life decisions

- Hybrid — web-based tools for scale + optional physical Performance Labs for accountability

What it is not

- A traditional tuition class brand

- Exam cramming without understanding

- Generic EdTech content without outcomes

- AI shortcuts that replace thinking

Technology removes friction. Responsibility stays with you.

2. Why use Idasara Academy?

Most students in Sri Lanka face the same problems:

- Switching tuition classes without a clear method

- Rewriting notes that still do not stick

- Studying a lot without visible progress

- Feeling lost between O/L, A/L, and the next step after school

Idasara Academy solves these by giving you:

- A personal AI Study Coach that explains step-by-step in English, Sinhala or Tamil — but never simply hands you the answer

- Structured topic pathways that highlight where to start

- Built-in tools for active recall, mistake fixing, and daily planning

- Progress signals you can trust (fewer repeated mistakes, better recall, readiness scores)

- Free core access so you can test the system before committing

It is designed for real Sri Lankan schedules — short daily sessions that survive school, travel, and family life.

3. Who is it for? (O/L, A/L & Employability tracks)

The platform is universal for Grades 6–13 and school leavers, but three main personas use it most:

O/L students (Grades 10–11)

Focus on finishing the syllabus, timed practice, and fixing repeated mistakes in core subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English.

A/L students (Grades 12–13)

Deep practice, past-paper analysis, stress control, and readiness tracking in streams such as Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Combined Mathematics).

Employability-track students (school leavers)

Skill-up on workplace English, digital confidence, AI literacy as clear thinking, communication, and job-ready habits. These pathways live under tracks such as Upskilling, Own Your Future, and AI Aptitude.

Parents can also follow a dedicated path for routines and visibility. The language of the platform stays the same for every track — calm, clear, and action-oriented.

Start free via the main Academy site or choose a specific path from the Library and Academy pages on idasara.org.

4. Idasara Academy Terms to Know

Here are the core terms you will see inside the app (drawn directly from the live navigation):

- Subjects bar — The top row showing your enrolled subjects (e.g. Mathematics, Chemistry). Swipe or tap to switch.

- Topics — The ordered list under each subject. Work from the top down. The platform highlights the topic that needs the most attention.

- Lesson Notes — The full written explanation of a topic. Read this first to understand the complete idea.

- Short Notes — A tool that helps you verify the short notes you write on paper. You build the knowledge; the tool checks it.

- Revision Questions — Quick checks to test whether the topic has really stuck. Answer from memory before looking.

- Prompt Packs — Ready-made, focused questions you can feed into AI Chat so you ask sharp questions instead of vague ones.

- AI Chat — Your personal study coach. It explains and guides step-by-step. It never simply hands you the answer.

- Quizzes — Short topic tests that score you instantly and show exactly what still needs work.

- Flash Cards — Auto-generated cards for fast recall. A few minutes a day keeps topics fresh.

- Practice tab — Extra quizzes, drills, and a place to review every mistake you have made.

- Exam tab — Mock exams, past papers, and readiness checks for the real exam day.

- Planner tab — Your daily time-management tool. Plan sessions and keep your streak going.

- Me tab — Your profile, progress, badges, settings, and the option to replay the tour.

- Study Coach / Credits — Daily AI usage allowance. Starter plans give limited credits; Advanced unlocks more.

- Start Here — The platform’s recommendation for the lowest-mastery incomplete topic so you build a stronger foundation first.

These terms appear consistently across O/L, A/L and employability content.

5. How does Idasara Academy work?

The system follows a simple, repeatable loop:

Understand → Practise → Check → Fix → Plan → Repeat

1. You start free on the web (Library or Academy path) for clarity.

2. You move into the app (Acceleration Tools) for structured sequences, daily practice loops, and progress tracking.

3. AI supports you (explanations, prompts, grading) while you remain responsible for the thinking and the daily effort.

Core content on the website is free to read. The app adds the execution layer: sequences, mistake banks, streaks, readiness scores, and parent visibility.

You can begin with any subject or track. The platform is trilingual (English / Sinhala / Tamil). Subjects currently include O/L Mathematics, Science and English plus A/L Science-stream subjects, with more pathways for employability and AI literacy.

Step 5 – Use the bottom navigation every day

The five tabs at the bottom keep everything organised (detailed in the next section).

Step 6 – Track progress and plan the next day

Check the Me tab for progress and badges. Use the Planner to schedule the next short session and protect your streak.

That is the complete daily loop.

7. The bottom navigation explained

- Learn — Your subjects, topics and the study tools listed above. This is where most of your time is spent.

- Practice — Extra quizzes, drills, and a complete review of every mistake you have made. Use this to sharpen weak areas.

- Exam — Mock exams, past papers and readiness checks. Open this when exam day is getting closer.

- Planner — Daily time-management tool. Plan study sessions and keep your streak alive so consistent progress becomes a habit.

- Me — Your personal space: profile, progress overview, badges, settings, and the option to replay this short tour any time you need a reminder.

Everything is designed so you can move clearly from understanding a topic → practising it → checking readiness — at your own pace.

8. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the content really free?

Yes. The website (Library and guides) is designed for full free reading. The app (Acceleration Tools) adds structured sequences, practice loops and tracking. You can start free and upgrade only if you want deeper coverage.

Does the AI just give me the answers?

No. AI Chat explains and guides step-by-step. You stay the one doing the thinking. Prompt Packs help you ask better questions so the coaching is more effective.

Can I use it for both O/L / A/L and employability skills?

Yes. The same tools and navigation work across exam subjects and skill tracks (English, AI aptitude, workplace communication, digital confidence).

How much time do I need each day?

Start with 20–40 minutes. Small consistent loops beat long irregular sessions. The Planner helps you protect that time.

What if I am weak in a subject?

The platform highlights the lowest-mastery incomplete topics first. Focus there. Progress signals (fewer repeated mistakes, better recall) usually appear within the first week of consistent practice.

Can parents see progress?

Yes. Parent visibility tools are available so families can support routines without pressure.

Where do I start if I am completely new?

2. Choose one subject or one path.

3. Open the first “Start Here” topic.

4. Read Lesson Notes, then move through the other tools.

9. Next steps

You now know the complete layout of Idasara Academy.

Pick one subject, open the first topic, and begin.

Everything is designed so you can move clearly from understanding → practice → readiness — at your own pace. You are in control.
