Level 3: 'A' Grade Challenge (Aiming for an 'A' Grade)

(Focus: Can you analyze situations and apply your knowledge to solve problems?)

  1. Analyze: Critically evaluate the impact of Online Shopping on small local businesses in Sri Lankan towns. Discuss one major advantage and one major disadvantage.

  2. Problem-Solving: Imagine the Ministry of Education wants to create a new ICT system to monitor student attendance across all government schools in Sri Lanka.

  • What would be the 'input'?

  • What kind of 'processing' would be needed?

  • What useful 'information' could this system provide as 'output' to school principals and officials?

  1. Justify: A company states, "Investing in ICT is always expensive and not worth the cost." Argue against this statement using the concept of 'Cost Effectiveness' and provide a clear example from a Sri Lankan business (like a bank or a clothing factory) to support your argument.

Exam Tip for Chapter 1: Examiners love practical, local examples! When asked about ICT applications, think about how you see them in your daily life in Sri Lanka (e.g., Dialog eZ Cash, PickMe app, online government services). Using these examples shows you truly understand the concepts.
